about the author

When I started this project my goal was to provide as much information as I could but without writing just to fill pages. When I was faced with the medical challenges in the beginning, I searched for a book that could help me understand what I could do to help dad on a daily basis. I searched the internet and the local library but only found 1 book that addressed the care of a loved one outside the hospital. It was published in the U.K. and I ordered it and paid the shipping to get it to me as quickly as possible. When the book arrived I was disappointed to see 300 pages of small text that seemed to be written for professional in-home care givers. Honestly, I didn’t read the whole book. There were chapters that just didn’t really address the fact that I was looking for everyday help in navigating the medical issues from home as a nonprofessional.

I promised myself that if I completed this project to my satisfaction that the book must be under 100 pages, stick to the subject and title as well as adding examples and photos. If you are reading this book you will find that your time is very limited and pushing through 300 pages of small text just to find out how to manage medications is just not practical. Your time is better spent on the person you are caring for.

There were more stories and charts that I could have added, but I think it was better to stay on point and get this information out as organized as I could. It is my intent to help and share experiences that may be just what you wanted to know.

I sincerely hope that the time you spend reading my pages will have a positive and productive impact on the one you are caring for.

Take Care,
Anne
